The Power of Words

Syntax, diction, effective word placement, proper use of adjectives, commas, conjunctions.  It’s enough to make one’s head explode, yet brilliant writers effectively make thousands off of their literature every day. But what’s the purpose of writing brilliant works of literary art? I suppose that just depends on who is holding the pencil, or the keyboard in more modern terms.

The genius behind words though, is that they can hold immense power of feelings. Words alone inspired world war two, the holocaust and the death of millions. Words alone moved people to spread good words of faith and religion, speaking against killing, stealing, coveting, and disrespecting. Words then led men to utilize and slaughter and rape for that same religion. Any great writer or orator knows the power of words, they have to work with them. However, on a smaller scale, words can have just as strong as an impact on a single person as it does a nation of people.

I don’t mean to state the obvious, I just wanted an interesting, and thought provoking introduction to a long pity-party of a blog I am about to write. So for respect to any readers, this is going to be mostly me complaining, so stop right here at the end of this paragraph and go tumbl on! If you’re the sympathetic or nosy type, then congrats! You’re about to have the time of your life as I bid thee welcome to, a simple blog.

You see, my introduction wasn’t far off. The underlying theme of this entire blog is words and their power. Words can be explosive, and set off chain reactions in ways we don’t even realize. I didn’t think about it till I started my previous sentence above, but now it hits me. I wouldn’t be in such a foul mood if it weren’t for these words I am about to share with you. “These guys on facebook keep messaging me their number….” were the words spoken by a girl I seeing, and have recently become very fond of.

Her name is Kiara, and I met her a couple of months ago. In my mind we hit it off pretty well, though to me she was just a girl I wanted to get with for a night and be done. Me being the dirty slut I am just had to pursue her, despite the fact she had a boyfriend. I didn’t care though, in fact, I loved it! I viewed it as a challenge that would make it so much more worth while once I accomplished my goal and did my dirty deed.

I am of course, past that point with her. I have real feelings for her in the early stages though. Nothing major, just enough to get a little hurt and blog about it. The problem started today, when on our nightly call she said “These guys on facebook keep messaging me their number…” and the power of those words led me to jealousy, and something I rarely ever do: care.

Kiara gave me the log in for her facebook a while ago so I could change her password. When she and her boyfriend at the time broke up, she wanted to move onto me. Mission completed. So I did, and I thus knew all her log in information. I never logged in until tonight. I wanted to see these assholes moving in on my girl! Because she was being very vague. What I found is, one guy gave her his number, and she gave him hers and told him to text her first. I then saw that she was talking to a long past ex boyfriend saying that even though she had a guy she liked in her life (which was ambiguous) she still was in love with him.

Now, I know I should be more sympathetic towards these things, despite being a wanna-be womanizer (and I do mean a wanna-be womanizer), I am a hopeless romantic. However in reading those words, I was shocked to say the least. I felt like I had been slapped in the face, and punched in the stomach. I felt betrayed, I had stopped talking to all other women so I could be loyal to this girl and I find that she is playing me?! After we discuss that we are going steady, and are committed she does that? Perhaps, as a guy, I lack the ability to note the romantic qualities of this. Excuse me for saying but, fuck romantic qualities.

The power of words struck up thousands of wars, and even more wars in the hearts and mind of the young. As a young man I can honestly say I don’t know what to think. But having vented on the one website I know I can share just about everything on, I feel a lot better. I would hate it if anyone I knew read this. I hate people I see everyday knowing my personal business. Though strangely enough I am willing to put it out there for a countless number of strangers. I suppose I am just weird. But who knows, maybe my words will reach somebody who is going through similar love woes. Maybe my words can be read by somebody, and mean the world to them.

It goes without saying that today, in a peaceful world where we communicate every second of every day, words are the greatest, most cost effective weapon and business of all. For words cost nothing to produce, but could cost a man his life, or make a man millions. In my case, it simply gave me a little heartbreak and confusion. I don’t know what I am going to do, probably just ignore it, and move on. I’ll be able to rest easy though, knowing that my words are out there for now. Thank God for the internet.

Letters To My Country: Oklahoma Senate Makes Every Woman In Oklahoma A Negligent Serial Killer →

letterstomycountry:

As many have heard by now, the Oklahoma senate passed a personhood bill, granting unborn fetuses the same legal rights as a fully born person. The bill follows Virginia legislation that did much the same thing:

Both bills share similar language that grants “unborn children” at “every stage…
